MAKING THE RIGHT CAP SELECTION THIS SUMMER
With rising temperatures and longer days, caps come into their own during the summer season. Not only are caps a summer fashion essential, but they also provide much-needed shade and UV protection. Our summer collection is one of our largest seasons (for good reason) but it can be overwhelming when selecting a cap to purchase. To help in this process, we have broken down each series and the qualities, depending on your needs this summer.
When most of us think of summer style, we think of Linen and for a good reason.
Linen fibers are hollow and naturally move air and moisture through the fabric. We source the highest quality of Linen from the Piemonte region of northern Italy. Moisture-wicking, fast-drying and breathable - all qualities that make Linen a perfect cap for warm summer days.
Although newer to the line-up, Seaqual has proven to be a Varsity Headwear team favorite. It could be the fact that Seaqual is made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. Or the versatility of the cap. Seaqual is fast-drying, wind resistant and our most packable cap thanks to its soft shape and wrinkle-resistant properties. This is a cap you grab on your way out the door and head straight to the beach.
Summer is a time for relaxed fits and fun pops of color in your wardrobe – and our Seersuckers caps are just that. These special edition caps are available in our soft series and come in wearable pastels for high summer times. Made from 100% cotton, the material is breathable, lightweight and hides wear well.
Last but by no means least, is our Sports series. This cap is for those looking to get outside and be active during the summer months. The soft shell sports fabric is an ultralight material with excellent durability and breathability. It is perfect for sporting activities but can also be worn for everything in between. For more intense, sweaty affairs, we recommend using our Intensity Sport cap
And don’t forget about caring for your cap this summer!
It’s no secret that a cap will protect you from the sun, but wearers can also help to protect the cap itself, whether from sweat stains, chlorine or salt water-marks from the sea. Our textile soap helps to maintain the longevity of your cap by carefully washing, soaking and rinsing the cap and letting it dry away from sunlight. Read more here for washing instructions.
