Behind the Design: The Oslo Beanie

Twelve years on, it felt like the right time to take the next step.

The Oslo Beanie is a tribute to our northern roots and the city where it all began. Made from a blend of cashmere and superfine merino wool, the Oslo Beanie carries the same dedication to craftsmanship, materials and detailing that defines every Varsity cap.

From the beginning of the design process, the goal was simple: to create a beanie that performs in the cold while maintaining the refined silhouette and quality that Varsity is known for.

Beanies are typically made in one standard size – a limitation that leaves most compromising on fit.

Staying true to our model, the Oslo Beanie is available in sizes Small through Large, allowing for a tailored fit that accommodates different head shapes and style preferences. This makes it one of the few premium beanies available in multiple sizes, designed for both large and small heads alike.

The Oslo Beanie is crafted from a blend of cashmere and superfine merino wool from Inner Mongolia — chosen for its warmth, breathability and softness.

Woven into the beanie, is a fine nylon thread to help maintain the shape of the beanie. The result is a beanie that feels luxurious yet practical – a cashmere-merino beanie that keeps its form and can be worn season after season.

Using feedback from our community, we designed a silhouette that’s refined and timeless. The Oslo Beanie complements the wearer’s features while maintaining structure and balance.
